Always remember: you are unique, just like everyone else. ~Author Unknown
Content is king. This fact has been well established by authorities greater than me (yes, they do exist!) For all the wrangling over the elements of effective SEO, it remains true that if your goal is to not only get traffic to your site, but convert that traffic to enthusiastic consumers, you had better be ready to deliver something when they get there.
You know this is true. How many times have you Googled a word or phrase only to find that the top results of your search rendered sites that had little or no value? Never have so many worked so hard to deliver so little.
As Internet consumers become more and more aware of the tricks and ploys of the black hatters, their ability to avoid them and their disdain for them will increase. You, however, will set yourself apart by delivering quality content, and more than than that, unique, quality content.
Never have so many worked so hard to deliver so little. ~WriteDaddy, a.k.a, Gene
Sure you want to be relevant. If you are the only one doing something, that can be just as lonely as being one of a million doing a thing. There may be others who do what you do, but there may be no one else who does what you do the way you do it.
How do you accomplish this? I have three suggestions for getting you started:
- Stand up for the consumer. Be on his/her side. See things from that perspective. What would you want from your site if it wasn’t your site at all, but a site you were consuming?
- Stand on the principles of responsible SEO techniques. Avoid the black hat temptations.
- Stand out! Let your personality show. Deliver high quality with flair.
